Sweet tooth time. Sweet tooth was a strain that originally combined a blueberry male with the famous Sweet Pink Grapefruit cutting from BC. The Grapefruit is an elite cutting and a favorite with cash croppers as well as connoisseurs alike. It was/is one on the strains that made BC famous for AAA+ bud. For the cash cropper, the combination of heavy yield, easy to grow squat structure, potent and dence nugs with to die for bag appeal, all combine in a package done in less than 7 weeks. Connoisseurs appreciate it's sweet citrusy taste and a surprisingly uplifting fun high. This is not a party killing, thick headed indica. It's very potent but relaxing and giggly always leaving everyone with an ear to ear grin. SOL made the original cross with SPG clone and DJ's blueberry thus creating Sweet tooth (ST1). The strain was then backcrossed to the Grapefruit clone to create Sweet Tooth 2 and once again to further bring out even more Grapefruit goodness creating Sweet tooth 3 (ST3) or what could be called a Sweet Pink Grapefruit cubed or a BX3. Although ST3's not totally identical to the Grapefruit cutting, it's a very good proximity with all its yummy qualities and some examples are actually an improvement on the already excellent Sweet Pink Grapefruit cut. Here's a selection of crosses with my 3 best ST# males. These range from the long flowering electric hazes, to my favorite fun lovin indicas. Hope you enjoy.
Black Fried Daze
Black Widow, from Mr Nice seeds, is one of the most famous cannabis stains known. Originally named White Widow, Shantibaba changed the name to Black Widow when he left Greenhouse and started Mr Nice seeds. Reportably he's the only one that has the original genetics to the stain which is a Brazilian Sativa and a South Indian mostly indica. I can't claim to know what the truth is but i do know the Mr Nices Black Widow is an excellent strain that is easy to grow and yields surprising well but what its famous for is it's ridiculous resin coverage and soaring potency. She expresses both sativa and indica sides of the highs in a complex combination. I personally find it starts as soaring and cerebral and ends dense and narcotic. Other find it starts deep and introspective and ends trippy and heady. Go figure, but most agree it's seriously potent and beautiful to behold. I'm made f2's as well as crossed the males to my favorite keeper mothers.
Kush Craze.
As much as i love my haze hybrids and mostly sativa hybrids (like trainwreck), I have to admit, they can be more challenging to grow. Although the Arcata Trainwreck is one of my favourite smokes, it's one of my least favourite to grow due to it's weak stock that can never support it's own bud weight. I've been searching for an indica plant to cross with my floppy princess that still lets the soaring sativa to shine but that will sturdy up the stock, and shorten the flowering time, without the sleepy thick effects that often accompany it. I think i found the perfect Indica to use in Cannabiogen's PCK. Pakistan Chitral Kush (some times called Purple Pakistani , Purple Kush or Purple Pakistan Chitral Kush)
The PCK from Cannabiogen is a pure Indica hash plant that originates from the Hindu Kush region of Pakistan. It's a true hash plant that grows sturdy, with remarkable resistance to mould, disease, and harsh climate. It's not just a rugged beast though, it's also a real beauty, with copious resin production, a stunning array of colours with its blood red stock and buds ranging form deep purple to pink to blue-ish to green and a truly unique aroma of cherry, blackberry and coffee. It is one of the most beautiful plants i've ever seen. The other outstanding quality of this gem is it's high. It's possesses the classic hash plant, potent, relaxing effect but with a super happy, ear to ear grin and without the hard comedown of the thicker Indicas. The PCK I used comes to me via Spain from Cannabiogen seed stock, where it's a well known classic. I've done selections over 3 generations, selecting for effect, taste and structure but used several males and female in order not to bottle-neck this beauty. When used in hybrids, it consistently adds robustness, resin production, a unique cherry flavourings and aroma, a stunning array of colours and that super feel good happy effect, while still allowing the moms ripping potency to shine. It also significantly shortens flowering time and makes even the trickiest of my moms a breeze to grow. Hope you enjoy...
Haze Craze Daze.
I absolutely love haze hybrids. On my quest to find
the ultimate mom, i've gathered up some of the best
haze hybrids i could get my hands on from Sensi Seeds,
Greenhouse, Ace seeds and Mr Nice. After picking my
favourites and/or extremely unique phenotypes i've crossed
them with my proven SSH male from Mr Nice (2003) as
well as 2 males of Mango Haze. The Mango males were
chosen out of large population and the two studs stood
out by by being very vigorous as well as extremely resinous.
These are one time only cross and none of these will
be repeated.
Haze hybrids usually display a large amount of phenotype
diversity. For those strains that offer truly unique
pheno's i've separated the crosses by which pheno was
used. There will still be diversity but the outcome
will "centre" around the selected pheno. See
the description for more details on the female phenotype.
Why haze hybrids? Taste, high and yield. They all taste
fantastic and range from spicy/peppery to full blown
fruit punch bubblegum. They are extremely potent. Novice
(and even experienced) smokers are often surprised and
overwhelmed by the high that creeps and keeps climbing.
With the high ceiling, low build up tolerance and long
lasting high they always satisfy. The highs are complex
and range from nicely centred, to full blown trippy/
psychedelic. And all of the pheno's i picked are fantastic
yielder's and produce very well inside. Don't be put
off by the 9 and 10 week flowering times, they more
than make up for it with the time you'll save vegging
them out. Experienced growers and get 5 or more ounces
when flowering from a just rooted clone, thus completely
eliminating a vegetation room and/or saving you 2 or
3 (or more) weeks of Veg growth. Flowering 12/12 from
seed is possible and produces decent results but , if
possible, i would highly recommend growing the plant
until fully sexed and then using clones. Clones finish
much faster (sometimes 2-3 weeks faster) and potency
is much better if the plants are grown to sexual maturity.
They also respond great to screening and LST, allowing
for maximum yields with minimum plant numbers.
